Hi there! My name is Vera, but everyone calls me ‘Vee’. Some people also call me by my Native American name, Nightstar [‘Pisgeu Allanque’ in my native language] or the variation ‘Star of Night’.
I am an artist and jewelry designer by trade, and I also pursue writing as a possible career [both writing fully original works and Cthulhu Mythos stories] and videogame design. I am also a novice shaman [there’s an explanation down further lol]; hence the screenname. Also the reason why my ponysona is a shamanistic individual xD.

This is my pony-only dA account. I decided to create an account just for that, since I already have different accounts dedicated to different things. Here are the main ones:

She is a somewhat shy Pegasus-type creature who lives far out in the ocean, stirring up small hurricanes and monsoon rains. She generally avoids contact with others, because she tends to be taken advantage of a lot, but she is open to answering questions as long as you’re nice to her x3

<a href=“[link];>Ask the Survival Horror Trio</a> - This blog is hosted by Petasu, an alien dragon creature who previously lived on the sun, his mate, a pony named Harbinger and Harbinger’s best friend, Vaccina. Harbinger and Vaccina work together trying to find vaccines and cures for dangerous disease, particularly new-age zombie viruses xD. Vaccina’s daughter Sitka also hangs about the blog, so you can ask her stuff too .

FUN FACTS ABOUT ME:

Major obsession with radiation – I started enthusiastically studying radioactive elements when I was a kid, and I freaking love them. I creep myself out, because I sometimes talk about them in a very endearing manner O_o. I would have loved to have been a nuclear physicist, but I have a deep-seated fear of radiation poisoning.
PHYSICS, FTW! - I’m also hugely obsessed with physics, since forever. Especially Astrophysics, because the stars are one of the first things I remember falling in love with as a kid
Native American Indian - I’m mostly European, but I’m also part Lenape, which is a big part of who I am. My Native name is Nightstar [or even Star of Night works lol]. My native language is Munsee, which is what many of the names of my Sci-Fi characters come from [although the language is dying out, so I have limited resources to help me translate multi-part names].
Unofficially a shaman - I was basically born to be a shaman, so I call myself an ‘unofficial shaman’, because I live outside of the tribe and haven’t had the training. But I share the traits that make most shamans, including the bisexuality [although I now tend to identify myself as a lesbian, since I prefer females a bit more than men and that makes it easier to keep away men I’m not interested in xD], the deep connection to the dead, the overcoming of a major health obstacle [two, in fact – and that includes the mental illness trait] and I have a knack for helping people with their problems and solving disputes.
I have freakishly bizarre dreams - like alligators trying to climb up to the second story window of my grandmother’s house xD. Needless to say, I draw a lot of inspiration from them; especially the ones with the long, drawn-out plots, and the recurring ones. I rarely have a dream that disturbs me, but they creep out my family and friends a lot xD.
I sometimes hallucinate things - I know there’s obviously something wrong with me – which probably explains my nervous system issues [muscle tremors, etc.] – but I’m happy, so I don’t care. They’re not that bothersome.
I love H.P. Lovecraft’s stories – the Cthulhu Mythos is the shit! I’m currently working on reading everything in the mythos… it’s just hard to find some of the works by certain authors. How many people have contributed to the mythos inspired me to take a stab at it myself, and I’ve been dabbling with some weird ideas, including some odd OCs xD
Obsession with disease - I’ve been interested in learning about diseases since I was a kid, and I know a lot about them… probably more than most people outside of hospitals and labs do xD.
I was a candystriper [volunteer nurse’s aide] - I was in a three-year program in high school where we were trained as NAs and then did volunteer work at local nursing homes and a hospital. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, and I draw a lot of inspiration from it.
I’ve had many interesting encounters with wild animals - I don’t think of myself as being remotely like Jeff Corwin or anything like that, but since I was a kid, I’ve loved being out in nature, and I’ve gotten up-close with wild animals before – under safe circumstances, of course. Some of my favorite experiences include having a fox [who had a den nearby] come right up to the car and just gaze into my eyes for a long time, releasing a baby snapping turtle I found outside the school into the lake I live by [turtles are my main spirit guide, so that was seriously cool] and wading into the lake at sunset and watching the bats emerge from the trees to catch bugs on the water’s surface – one actually flew right past me so close that it’s wing brushed my shoulder!

Just a note for anyone who might be reading.
As a shaman, I have a duty to serve the community however I can, sort of like how a superhero feels compelled to use their powers for the greater good. I used to run a thread in the forums for people who needed help, and it got a lot of use over the course of a few years, with people writing to me about every sort of problem imaginable. It got to the point where I just didn’t have time to do it anymore, but I still offer advice and help people whenever I can.
If you have a problem and need advice, or just want someone to listen to you, please feel free to send me a note. I’m not judgemental, I’m good at thinking things through and I’ve been told that I’m a great listener; if you need help, I’ll do my best to help you work it out. I’ve gone through a lot in my life, including overcoming severe depression and anxiety disorder [completely without medication or therapy], so I know a lot about life and its low points. I’m only online once a week, but I always make time to reply to people who write to me.
